PhiBrows Microblading

What are Phi BoldBrows?

Phi BoldBrows is a method of microblading which is a semi-permanent technique of hyper-realistic eyebrow drawing.

The shape of your brows is determined by your facial structure and shape before each hair stroke is hand drawn by your brow artist. Each set of Phi BoldBrows is completely unique to every client, using the golden ratio to determine the perfect shape, which is an exclusive technique taught by Phi Academy.

Phi BoldBrows are an ideal brow treatment for people who struggle to grow hair on their brows, suffer from sparse or over plucked brows or those who just want fabulous brows all year round with little to no maintenance.

How does it works?

The pigment is applied with a specific Phibrows tool that has a row of several fine needles to create thin hair like marks in the skin. Your artist will choose the pigment color  according to your natural hair color and skin type. The pigment is bladed just below the epidermis and the most shallow part of the dermis, making extremely fine natural looking hair strokes. A very natural result is achieved, as the hairs are bladed into the skin according to the natural hair growth direction.             The top up treatment must be booked within 10 weeks of your first Phi BoldBrows appointment.

Is Microblading painful?

The service can be a little uncomfortable for those who are more sensitive. However, there is an anesthetic applied during to keep this to a minimum to where it is completely tolerable. We recommend that you bring earphones with you and play your favourite playlist so you can relax whilst Kalina transforms your brows!

How long does it last?

Phi Brows generally last between 10-12 months before a top up is needed. However this is not always the case as durability will depend on skin quality. Those with oily skin will find the pigment fades faster and may need more regular top ups – for example 6 months onwards. Please note, it is the responsibility of the client to take this factor into consideration before booking your treatment.

What can I expect during my service?

The first treatment takes approximately 3 hours to complete while your brow artist maps out your new brow and hand-draws each and every hair stroke for the most natural looking and realistic brow finish.

Before the appointment begins, the artist will provide consultation to discuss expectations and results of the treatment.

The artist then draws on the eyebrow shape according to the PhiBrows golden ratio measuring tool. Brows are measured perfectly to complement your unique face shape and size.

Next, the artist chooses the perfect PhiBrows color.

Initial strokes are placed, then anesthetic is applied to reduce any discomfort.

Pigment is worked into each stroke to define the brow.

After, a pigment mask is left to absorb into the skin.

Once that’s finished, the artist cleans the area thoroughly.

After the service, the artist will provide Skin Candy ointment to use for 7 days twice a day.

*Top-Up Treatment: A top up treatment is required one month after your first Phi BoldBrow treatment as 10-50% of hair strokes are lost while the skin tries to repair itself. The top up treatment must be booked within 10 weeks of your first Phi BoldBrows appointment.

Post Treatment Care

IMPORTANT: BEFORE POST TREATMENT CARE WASH YOUR HANDS AND DISINFECT. FOR USING THE CREAM USE APPLICATORS, TO APPLY A THIN LAYER OF CREAM. MASSAGE WITH YOUR FINGERS.

On the day of treatment, the client should:

Gently clean the eyebrow area with wet cotton to absorb excess lymph fluid. This procedure should be repeated every 2-3 hours on the first day until the leak stops. Removing this liquid and applying Skin Candy Cream prevents the lymph from hardening. Before going to bed, the process of cleaning and moisturizing should be repeated, and applying PhiPatches (or plastic foil) will protect the eyebrows from drying out during the night.

Days 1-7:

Gently wash the eyebrows with fingertips, every morning and evening with water and antibacterial soap. In that way, bacteria and dead skin will be removed, and then it is necessary to dry them, by gently tapping with a clean tissue. When the eyebrows are dry, apply a thin layer of Skin Candy cream in gentle circular motions for 15 seconds. Excessive application is not recommended, because it will clog the skin and delay healing.

* It is not recommended to use cleaning products that contain acids (glycolic, lactic or AHA) or any peeling.

*Important note about showering: Limiting the hot shower to 5-10 minutes will avoid creating too much steam. Keep the face out of the water while washing the body, and then, at the end of the shower, wash your hair. Your face should be wet only at the end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.

*Itching is normal but please do not pick or scratch the area as this can cause the pigments to heal uneven and may even cause infection and scarring.

*You should always avoid laser treatments over the treated area during the healing period (Fraxel laser, IPL) because they can destroy the pigment and cause inflammation. Faster fading out of pigment can happen if you use antibiotics or hormonal therapy. Always protect your eyebrows from the sun by using sun protection cream.

Important reminders for clients:

-Use a new pillowcase.

-Allow scabs or dry skin to peel naturally. Picking can cause scarring or discoloration.

-No facial treatment, Botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

-Avoid hot, sweaty exercises for a week.

-Avoid direct sun exposure or sunbathing for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.

-Avoid heavy sweating and long hot showers for the first 15 days.

-Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.

-Avoid swimming, lakes, hot tubs for the first 15 days.

-Avoid topical makeup including sunscreen in the area.

-Never rub, pick or scratch the treated area.

Conclusion: with a proper routine of preparation and care, clients will have much better results with your microblading procedure.
